Acro Umbrella Mission, Vision, and Values
Who We Are
We are a collective dedicated to supporting Vancouver’s acroyoga community. We believe acroyoga thrives when it is accessible, inclusive, and rooted in community. Collaboratively with teacher and student input, we offer acro classes, jams, workshops, and events that make the practice accessible and welcoming. We create opportunities for teachers to share their craft, for students to learn and progress, and for everyone to connect, play, and grow together in safe and inclusive spaces.
Mission
Our mission is to support and grow the Vancouver acroyoga community by providing safe, inclusive, and accessible spaces to learn, teach, and connect. We exist to welcome new students to the practice, provide growth opportunities for existing practitioners, and empower teachers with resources and opportunities to contribute and collaborate.
Vision
We envision a vibrant, connected acroyoga community where people of all backgrounds and abilities feel safe, supported, and inspired to explore their practice. A community where students and teachers thrive through collaboration and acro is accessible as a joyful and sustainable practice for all.

Explore Acroyoga & Partner Acrobatics Classes in Vancouver
Handstand and mobility training pairs naturally with acroyoga and partner acrobatics. Many of the balance, body awareness, shoulder stability, and alignment skills developed in handstand practice directly support stronger acro foundations, cleaner technique, and safer partner movement.
At Acro Umbrella, students often combine handstand training with acroyoga classes to improve confidence, inversions, hand-to-hand skills, standing acro, and overall movement control in a supportive Vancouver community

FAQ for Acro Umbrella
Why does Acro Umbrella focus so much on community instead of just teaching tricks?
We believe the best acroyoga happens when people feel safe, included, supported, and connected. Building a welcoming community creates better training partners, stronger communication, and a more enjoyable learning environment.
Do I have to agree with every value to join Acro Umbrella?
No. We simply ask everyone to respect our community standards of kindness, inclusion, consent, and safety so everyone can enjoy training together.
What does “accessible acroyoga” actually mean?
It means creating opportunities for people of different experience levels, body types, backgrounds, and abilities to participate and progress at their own pace.
Why do you work with independent teachers instead of having one instructor?
Vancouver has an incredible community of talented teachers, each with a unique style. Bringing them together gives students a wider range of skills, perspectives, and training opportunities.
What does “safe” mean at Acro Umbrella?
Safety goes beyond spotting. It includes respectful communication, informed consent, progressive teaching, and creating an environment where people feel comfortable asking questions and saying no.
How do your values influence the way classes are taught?
Our instructors prioritize clear progressions, teamwork, encouragement, and learning without ego. Everyone starts somewhere, and growth looks different for every student.
How can I help build the community?
Show up consistently, welcome new faces, practice good communication, share your knowledge, volunteer at events, and help create the kind of community you’d want to join yourself.
